I've been on vacation mode since Palm Sunday. I'm going through the motions of work without really understanding what it is I am doing. I pray that Thursday comes sooner. Till then, I shall appear busy by concentrating hard on my laptop with my "serious" face even though I am just looking at more photos of JT and Timbo the king's concert at MOA.

My husband and I are still deciding what to do during this long break. We usually just stay in Manila cuz we don't want to be stressed with traffic. Manila is fabulous during holy week. You can drive around with your eyes closed and you wouldn't hit another car. Deserted. I love it. But, it would also be nice to do something different. Here are our options. Maybe you can help us decide....

Photo editing apps for iPhone!

1) Vint Green

2) More Mono

3) Blend Cam

4) Quad Camera

Okay. On to video editing apps!

Isn't this the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen? I love it. Be mine!

Photojojo are selling the "Zumi Digital" (aka the Superheadz Digital Harinezumi) for $160 - the "toy" / retro digital camera features a 2 megapixel CMOS sensor, VGA video recording at 25fps, ISO100 or ISO800, a viewfinder, an LCD screen, and is perhaps the most recent incarnation of a Lomo camera in digital form?

"The Zumi has been carefully crafted to take digital images and videos that have the look and feel of vintage film (lens flare, vignetting and all). Her "perfectly flawed" processing chip combined with a macro setting make digital 8MM magic -- making your everyday life look like an art house flick."

My Dad has this habit of eating at the same restaurant over and over again until we beg and badger him to eat somewhere else, in which he obliges and brings us to another restaurant we can eat in for the next year or so... Get the cycle?

We used to eat in Wok Inn all the time every time we'd visit Baguio (very often once upon a time). For my Dad, there was no other restaurant in Baguio but Wok Inn. When he found out that they had a branch in Park Square in Makati, I was forced to eat there many, many times after school because it was nearby. But then graduations and other schools happened so my we stopped eating there. Until today.

Two years ago, my friend and I went to Bacolod and tasted the BEST chicken inasal ever. I forgot why we went there, but I do remember one thing: Aida's chicken is so effing good. So imagine how happy I was when my friend told me that Aida's opened a branch in Makati Cinema Square.
That's me putting achuete oil on my rice during our lunch at Manokan Country, Bacolod.

To Mr. Gibo Teodoro,

Personally I think you're great. Although I would like to vote for someone else, I'm quite a fan or yours.

It's just that today you managed to piss me off. Your campaign volunteers caused quite a commotion in EDSA this morning, hence resulting in heavy traffic.

We just booked ourselves another trip this summer. This time to beautiful Coron. And I have to say, we got ourselves another sweet deal with this one. Our trip will be costing us a ghastly... Php5,000 pesos each! Egad! What?! Haha. Can you believe that? The gods must be aligned when we book these trips. 5k ALL IN to go to Palawan. (inclusive of ROUNDTRIP airfare and 4 days, 3 nights stay ok?!) Have I stressed enough how lucky we are? Anyway, now we are on a perpetual countdown till that day comes.

Part of that countdown is convincing the boys to do a very gay but tasteful remake of the 90's boyband video... Let this love begin by Caught in the Act. I think it's very Coron worthy, don't you?

Slept my way through my entire Saturday. No joke. I really did. Slept for a total of 19 hours, with breaks for a quick lunch and a nice hour long massage mind you! I feel like a total sloth. Does sleeping this much mean I get twice as much rest as normal? Meaning, I can spend the next two days being uber productive and not have to sleep? But if so, why did I go through Sunday like a drunkard, passing the day just so I could lay down on my bed once again? Or does it mean I'm actually still growing? I could use a few more inches added to my height actually. But alas, I checked and i haven't grown. Even just a millimeter. Damn that. I guess maybe I'm just a lazy ass b*tch who had one too many SHOTS last friday. But if I'm bad then, what does that make i or n? Sleeping for no less than 24 hours? what's the record for the longest sleep anyway?

Piolo Pascual, I repeat, PAPA Piolo Pascual will be at my office tomorrow. What do I do???

I just read the best Manny Pacquiao article ever. It was for GQ magazine and it's hella long but totally worth it. I don't know if I should laugh or cry over that article. It was nice in a sad sort of way. Anyway, I really think everyone should read this...

My officemate just gave me another reason to go to Landmark and conduct an experiment.

Apparently my officemate and his wife do their grocery shopping at Landmark Trinoma, where, get this, the deodorant section is actually smelly. I know it could be smelly because smelly people go their to get rid of their smelliness... but a deodorant section that needs, well, deodorant? Weird...

I was never really a fan of Jimmy Kimmel until this skit came along. I must have seen this video 15 times! Every time an officemate passes by my desk, I can't help but go "Oh! watch this! Watch this!" Unfortunately I can't seem to save the video in my phone, hence depriving so many of watching this ingenious work of art. So Thank God for You Tube and HTML.

Because this is the only cause in Facebook worth supporting. Please let this be your motto in life! I mean how many of you have seen examples of this insanity? I personally know someone who changed her occupation in Facebook from account manager to Photographer just because she bought a DSLR. She displays her "artistic shots" in Facebook too, and they're butt ugly! Day, kayag kaya yan ng cellphone camera ko! And her profile pic! Oh, her profile pic! A silhouette of her and her SLR! Di ko ma-take.

Whoever created this group, thank you. Kindly identify yourself and show me proof that you indeed created it, and I will treat you to a meal worth 500 pesos!

Last Saturday, we celebrated another big 3-0. This time it was a surprise party for our friend. (we seem to be doing a lot of surprises this year). After this though we might have to stop with the surprises since it'll be pretty tough to beat this one. Ben's (the celebrant) wife went all out in planning this hawaiian themed party. I won't go through all the details since there's too much going on and it'd take too much time and I'm too lazy to do it. I will say however that the highlight of the evening (among other things... hmmm...) was the fire zippers (??? is that what it's called?). A friend of ours (paging Lala Jara) was one of the 3 who performed that night and I gotta tell you, they were incredible. I've seen these performances in Boracay all the time but I guess it's different when it's done on your own backyard and maybe when it's done by a friend (haha) but it was sooooo cool. If I had any guts I would totally do this. But I don't so instead, I shall shamelessly plug that my friend, Lala Jara, and their wonderful team of zippers have zip classes every Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30pm till 10:30pm at Salcedo Park, Sundays at Valle Verde 1, 4-6pm. And now I shall leave you with these photos. (c/o Mon Bumatay)

My office mates were invited to speak at a convention in Barcelona recently. Both of them gave me cute pasalubongs! I love Gaudí's whimsical designs. In fact, when I become super duper rich, I intend to have a white beach house with a mosaic flooring of Gaudí's sun, just like the one in Park Güell.

Anyway, back to the pasalubongs. One officemate gave me a cute photo bookmark of Casa Batlló. I'm not much of a reader. I prefer audio books because I have the reading capability of a twelve year-old. It takes me months to finish a book. So thank God for www.audible.com... and Frostwire. Hehe.
Have to find a purpose for this...

My other office mate gave me a Gaudí notebook. This I will use right away. I love notebooks! In the office, I receive tons of them because they know I have so much notes to jot down. Well more like work to remember. This one has the lizard (?) installation from Park Güell. It's a good thing it's colorful because lizards freak me out.
Yay!

My husband and I have finally decided to have a baby. We've been enjoying our "solo" time for over 2 years now and we've decided that it's time to add to the crazy crew that is our family. What I have realized is that it is much easier to get pregnant when you don't want to (or when you're not thinking about it at least) than it is when you're uber conscious about it as we are.

So far I've been coffee deprived for the past few weeks since stupid me did research on the effects of coffee on pregnant people and those trying to conceive and unfortunately it's not a recommended thing to be hacked up on caffeine. So now I am on caffeine withdrawals thus obsessing about the baby that is to come.

To keep myself awake then, (I wonder why it hasn't crossed my mind to work instead? hmmm...) I have done some online shopping of things I want my child to have. They're mostly clothes since let's admit it, I have an obsession with clothing. They're also for a girl since girls are more fun to shop for anyway (though it by no means Lord that I would be any less happy if we were given a boy. It would just mean a lot more savings for us). Well anyway, here are some of the things I would want my baby to be spotted wearing.

Yes I have a secret desire to make my child look like Suri Cruise

N surprised me with a trip to Palawan. Well sort of surprised me since he slipped weeks before the trip. But remind me to thank him over and over because it was the best trip ever! Not everyone can ask for a date and get THIS. Definitely tops my list of beautiful places in the world. I don't care if I haven't seen a lot of places. I don't need to. I can just visit Palawan with N again and again and again!

Here are some favorite photos:

View from the plane. I knew this was going to be goooood.

Approaching Lagen

View from our room. Thank you Chi and Mitzi for the beach front (hmmmnnnyeah) upgrade.

Lagoon Tour. AMAZING. The lagoons were so... blue and green and breathtaking and mysterious and scary at the same time! Loved it.

As I would call it: The nakakaiyak na sunset.

Lagen, please buy this photo for your brochure!

Nakakaiyak na rock formation

Pinaghugutan Island. We had our private lunch here. Reminds us of Potipot Island.

Can I just say? I hate diving. It scares me to death. So this is compromise at its finest. Me (unwillingly going down 5 meters underwater) while flashing N the finger. The instructor didn't even say: "Ready, Set, Go." This was my Palawan low point. And even this was breathtaking (literally).

N and I snorkeling. This I can do calmly.

Thank you, N!!! I'm as speechless as the time the diving instructor jammed the mouthpiece in my mouth! I love you!

I've only been to Singapore once before and that trip was really something. I went with friends and we had met some Singaporean friends there that just gave us such a great time. It was one of the most fun I've had out of the country. To think we didn't even go to any of the usual tourist destinations. They brought us to places I could never go back to if I went on my own. It was definitely a great experience.

Pissed at myself. LBC finally delivered my photos. Why was the B&W roll empty? I remember following the instructions. Now I'm scared to use my remaining roll in Palawan. Note to self: Bring an extra camera. Digital.

I think this this is the coolest photo that came out from my colored roll.
