I'm normally not a big fan of Chinese cuisine. I think maybe it's because that's all my husband wants to eat... ALL the time, so, I'm pretty much sick of it. But ever since we had the best xiao long pao I have ever tasted in my life back in Hong Kong (mind you this was just at the airport. Imagine the gloriousness of one in an authentic chinese restaurant), I have been searching for the perfect one here in Manila. I have tried everywhere and I am always left disappointed, and in some cases, left with more than just a sense of dissatisfaction. Let's just say Binondo restaurants and my tummy don't go well together. Uggh.
Anyway, I have been hearing good things about Eat Well's xiao long pao. They say there's real soup inside! And the outer layer doesn't break when you pick it up! This I had to experience for myself. So before a night out, F and I had dinner at Eat Well. And boy, they definitely did not disappoint.
I was so excited to try it, I forgot to take a photo before eating one.
It's by far, the best xiao long pao in Manila. Still nothing like what I tasted back in Hong Kong but good enough to satisfy my cravings when I have them. And the best part about it was that not only was the rest of the food good, but the prices were reasonable!
My beef wanton noodles. VERY tasty.
Deep fried mushrooms. Good but you can feel the oil with every bite. Very bad.
I didn't try this one cuz I don't like spicy food. This is shrimp puff with wasabi sauce. F said it was good.
